ALGORITHMS, POWER RATINGS, BETTING MARKETS, and COMPREHENSIVE ANALYSES
CollegeFootballWinning.com was founded on a single set of algorithms which we simply called, “The Formula.” Originally, The Formula utilized current season performance data exclusively, but it now incorporates betting data as well. Because significant current season performance data is required, our FORMULA PICKS BEGIN EITHER WEEK 5 OR 6.

Ever since the development of the original Formula, we never stopped researching more algorithms, i.e. strong, quantifiable correlations to against-the-spread outcomes. We found particular success in developing our own power ratings for every single FBS college football team, and therefore, every FBS matchup. When the betting line deviated from our power ratings’ suggested line (within a certain range), the game was deemed valuable, at a specific point spread. Those recommendations, the ones based on power rating deviation, focused more on betting quantities. At other times, we recommend games because of particular football mismatches that are not built into the betting line or amount to betting market inefficiencies. At still other times, we see high volume betting (popular games) and perceive a particular edge on one side or another based entirely on betting money flow.

Our written analyses are now reserved almost exclusively for Bowl games. The analyses offer comprehensive breakdowns of Bowl matchups, including team comparisons and specific wagering recommendations.

Our algorithms, power ratings, perception of inefficient betting markets, and comprehensive analyses amount to a freedom we now exercise to make betting recommendations according to any number of criteria.

A) Shop your favorite sportsbooks for the most advantageous point spread for each pick.

B) Throughout the season, you will be asked to wager between 1 and 3 units per game. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU FOLLOW THESE UNIT RECOMMENDATIONS. The Formula becomes more reliable as the season matures, and these unit recommendations have been calculated to maximize profit and minimize loss.

C) A unit is a wagering denomination. It is strongly recommended that you choose a unit value that is between 1.5% and 1.67% of your total bankroll.
Your bankroll is the total amount of money set aside for wagering in a season.
An example of bankroll and units-to-dollar amounts:

TOTAL SEASON BANKROLL 1-UNIT DOLLAR AMOUNT 2-UNIT DOLLAR AMOUNT 3-UNIT DOLLAR AMOUNT
$2,000 $30-$33 $60-$67 $90-$100
$6,000 $90-$100 $180-$200 $270-$300
$30,000 $450-$500 $900-$1000 $1,350-$1,500
